Crowley Company Growth Spurs Promotion, New Hires

Frederick, Md. – Over the past few months, The Crowley Company has added a significant number of new faces and positions to its operations. “We’ve been extraordinarily busy over the past six months,” notes company president Christopher Crowley, “and this has given us the opportunity to promote and hire, as well as to more clearly define roles and procedures throughout each of our locations. It’s exciting to be in a time of growth and to see it physically manifested within our team.”

Manufacturing

john-wilsonJohn Wilson, of Crowley’s Wicks and Wilson division, has been named General Manager of Crowley’s Basingstoke, U.K. operations. Andrew Marcou, CFO and COO for Crowley’s U.S. and U.K. manufacturing, says, “John’s two decades of experience in dealer support and product testing affords us a unique perspective and meshes well with our plans for growth. He’s able to marry his engineering and social skills, allowing him to share detailed knowledge in a manner which is understandable to both technical and lay minds. He has the ability to lead a manufacturing team in development, production and customer service – a strong combination.”

Business Development

chris-stanleyChristopher (Chris) Stanley has joined The Crowley Company as its first resale channel manager. “This is a great opportunity to take an already strong channel that is still in its youth and to create a seasoned channel of resellers that are excited about the value that Crowley scan systems can provide for them and their clients,” states Stanley. “Chris’ job is to build relationships and add value,” says Matthew McCabe, vice president of development. “When we acquired Wicks and Wilson in 2011, we acquired an international reseller channel. That opened the door to building a North American distribution channel. Both have grown to the point that we need a dedicated manager; Chris will do an excellent job.” Prior to joining Crowley, Stanley was the Director of Government Sales at PGi where he was responsible for the strategic design and implementation of a new government sales channel.

robie-harrisRobert (Robie) Harris III, a longtime member of the document imaging industry, has joined Crowley as the Southeast business development representative for digital and analog equipment and solutions. Says McCabe, “Robie will be taking over our southeast territory for the retired Rich Jackson, who has left some very big shoes to fill. I’ve worked with Robie in the past and am confident that he will represent our Crowley products very well.” Most recently with Imagex Inc. for more than a decade, Harris notes that as a reseller he has sold both for and against Crowley products. He cites the larger territory and diverse scanner lines as two of the challenges he’s looking forward to tackling. “Crowley has always struck me as being a few steps ahead of the day’s scanning technology and I’m excited to be a part of the company’s future.”

Technical Support

harvey-hicksCrowley’s technical services team, which supports capture equipment sales with installation, training, preventative maintenance and repairs, has added four technical staff members. Harvey Hicks, CDIA+, MCP, PDI+, has been hired as the technical services department manager. “Harvey’s vast experience in the field as both a provider and recipient of technical services will benefit The Crowley Company in so many ways,” notes Debbie Harris, director of administration and former tech support manager. “Harvey brings systems and organization that will quickly prove themselves in the field and the back office.”

Also joining the technical services department are Mike Ford, Mike Panchision and Andy Harris. Mike Ford, senior field engineer, is based in Phoenix, Az. and will lend his skills to clients in the western U.S. Mike Panchision, field engineer, is based in Richmond, Va. and will support the southeastern U.S. Andy Harris, parts and equipment technician, is responsible for all parts order fulfillment, stock management, equipment testing and re-packaging.
